Valentine Chemicals (Lockport, LA) says it has acquired a line of coating additives from 3M, for an undisclosed sum. The acquired business includes gray and color-corrected ceramic microspheres, which are used to reduce levels of volatile organic compounds, increase filler loadings, improve hardness, reduce and control gloss, and add burnish scrub and abrasive resistance.
