Unipar buys out OxyChemâ€™s stake in Carbocloro

Brazilian holding company Unipar has agreed to acquire OxyChemâ€™s 50% stake in Carbocloro for 500 million reais ($273 million). Unipar owns the other 50% of Carbocloro, a producer of chlor-alkali and derivatives based in SĂŁo Paolo and founded in 1964. The firm, which had revenues of R$887 million in 2009, has annual capacity for 353,000 m.t. of chlorine, 394,000 m.t. of caustic soda, and 140,000 m.t. of ethylene dichloride, according to IHS Chemicalâ€™s Directory of Chemical...
