Syngenta’s first-quarter sales up 2%

Syngenta says it generated $4.7 billion in sales during the first quarter. The figure represents a 2% increase from the same quarter the year before and is in line with analyst consensus estimates. The company has not disclosed earnings. Overall crop protection sales increased 6% year-on-year (YOY), Syngenta says. Sales of fungicides—the second-highest revenue stream, slightly behind selective herbicides—grew 9% YOY, to just over $1 billion.
