Solvay’s fourth-quarter net income soars 79%

Solvay achieved a 79% increase in its net income for the fourth quarter of 2012, to €203 million ($272 million), from €184 million in the fourth quarter a year before. Ebit also soared, by 78%, to €349 million from €196 million over the same period. Net sales increased to €2.99 billion, up 4% from the €2.87 billion reported in the fourth quarter of 2011.
