Sasol, Ineos plan US HDPE joint venture

Sasol and Ineos plan to form a joint venture to manufacture bimodal high-density polyethylene (PE), the two companies said on 24 July. They are considering a 470,000 m.t./year plant that would employ Ineos’s Innovene S process technology. The partners expect to make a final investment decision during the first half of 2014, with start-up of the plant expected at the end of 2015.
