Reports: Odebrecht buys Sabic’s WV site for cracker

Odebrecht (Salvador, Brazil), a majority shareholder in Braskem (São Paulo), has closed the acquisition of Sabic’s site at Washington, WV, various local media report. The Appalachian Shale Cracker Enterprise (Ascent) purchased Sabic’s Plastic Innovations plant, located at 9226 DuPont Road at Wood County, WV, for roughly $11 million, the reports say. Odebrecht was not immediately available at CW press time. The project, located in the Marcellus Shale region would include an ethane cracker, three polyethylene plants, and associated infrastructure for water...
