Praxair starts up ASU

Praxair’s Brazilian-based subsidiary White Martins has started up an 800 m.t./day air separation unit (ASU) for oxygen, nitrogen, and argon at Minas Gerais, Brazil. The plant will supply industrial gases to ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg), a steel and mining company. The company says it is a two-part unit—one for customers and one for merchants. The ASU will also supply local merchant liquid customers in the southeastern Brazilian mining, primary metals, automotive, manufacturing, and health care...
