PPG declares force majeure at Lake Charles VCM plant

PPG has declared force majeure at its Lake Charles, LA, commodity chemicals plant for vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and all grades of caustic soda after a fire on 24 December. The fire impacted the VCM unit and sent one employee to the hospital. No off-site environmental damage was recorded.
