Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Oxo-Alcohol Exit8:53 AM MDT | May 8, 2009 Unipetrol (Prague), a subsidiary of PKN Orlen (Plock, Poland), says it will discontinue production of oxo-alcohols. The company’s 50,000-m.t./year plant at Litvinov, Czech Republic will cease production at the end of this month. “The main reason for the decision to end production is the significant drop in demand caused by the global economic and financial crisis,” the company says. The move will free up raw materials, particularly propylene and hydrogen, which will be diverted to other production units within Unipetrol. The Litvinov...
