Ohio Valley Resources to build nitrogen plant in US Midwest

Ohio Valley Resources (OVR; Fairfield, IL) is building a $1-billion nitrogen fertilizer plant in Spencer County, IN. The 150-acre plant will produce about 2,420 m.t./day of ammonia and 3,000 m.t./day of urea ammonium nitrate–solution for fertilizer. The project is expected to be complete in 2016 and will employ about 80 workers. Some of the ammonia production will be sold to local utility markets for selective catalytic reduction units, or nitrogen oxide (NOx)control—which reduces emissions in coal-fired power plants and industrial facilities.
