Nova Chemicals breaks ground on PE expansion

Nova Chemicals has broken ground and officially started construction on a previously announced polyethylene 1 (PE1) expansion project at its Joffre, AB, complex, the company announced on 12 June. The project is expected to be commissioned in the fall of 2015 and cost approximately C$1 billion ($980 million), including capital and start-up costs. The PE1 project includes a world-scale polyethylene (PE) reactor and associated infrastructure.
