Nippon Shokubai restart

Nippon Shokubai says that its US-based subsidiary NA Industries (Houston) has restarted an idled superabsorbent polymers (SAP) plant at Chattanooga, TN, to supplement production capacity following the explosion and fire at Nippon Shokubai’s Himeji, Japan, plant on 29 September. The incident led to Nippon Shokubai’s largest global SAP facility, at Himeji, being taken off-line, knocking out 18% of global SAP capacity.
