Borealis’s net income rose 15%, to €130 million ($202 million), on sales up 15%, to €1.7 billion. Operating profits rose 8%, to €137 million. Growth in the polyolefin target markets of infrastructure, automotive, and advanced packaging added to earnings growth, Borealis says. Positive contributions from the newly formed base chemical business and from Borouge, Borealis’ joint venture with Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., also increased profits, the company says.
