Mexichem, OxyChem advance Texas cracker

Mexichem and OxyChem say that they have formed a 50-50 joint venture, Ingleside Ethylene, to construct the previously announced cracker at OxyChem’s Ingleside, TX, site. The plant will produce about 550,000 m.t./year of ethylene, and the project will include pipelines and storage at Markham, TX. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding for the project in August 2012. The cracker project is expected to involve a total investment of about $1.5 billion.
