German chemical industry association VCI (Frankfurt) has elected Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany) chairman Karl-Ludwig Kley as VCI president, effective 6 October. Kley succeeds Evonik Industries chairman Klaus Engel. Kley was elected at the VCI general assembly, held recently in Essen, Germany. His term as VCI president will last for two years.
