MGC ammonia closure

Mitsubishi Gas Chemical says it has decided to close permanently its ammonia plant based at Niigata City, Japan, at the end of July 2015. The 132,000-m.t./year plant has been operating since 1957 and costs too much to maintain. In addition, the plantâ€™s efficiency has gone down because of a decline in domestic demand for ammonia, the company says. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical will also discontinue producing liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice, by-products made in ammonia...
