Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Leak Shuts Eastman Cracker in Texas10:03 AM MDT | September 21, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Eastman Chemical says a steam leak has caused an unexpected outage at its Longview, TX ethylene and propylene plant. Plant 4, one of the site’s larger crackers, is expected to be running at full capacity early next week, the company says. Also, some oxo derivative plants, primarily oxo alcohols n-butanol, 2-ethylhexanol, and n-propanol, are experiencing outages because of the shutdown, Eastman says.
