Kayan Awards Contract to Chinese Firm

Saudi Kayan, a Sabic affiliate, says it has awarded a contract to Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corp. (Beijing) to construct a 400,000-m.t./year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia (CW, Oct. 4, 2006, p. 17). The plant will use Basell’s Hostalen technology and be one of two HDPE units in a major petrochemical complex planned by Kayan.
