Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Ineos to Buy BASF’s Seal Sands, U.K. Site11:03 AM MDT | March 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Ineos has agreed to acquire BASF’s Seal Sands, U.K. site. The purchase price was not disclosed. BASF produces acrylonitrile (AN), adipodinitrile (ADN), and hexamethylenediamine (HMD) and related by-products at the site. The deal excludes BASF’s HMD and ADN plants, BASF says. BASF will continue to own the HMD plant, but Ineos will operate the unit for BASF.
