Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Ineos Fluor Buys U.K. Fluorspar Miner12:08 PM MST | December 3, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Ineos Fluor (Runcorn, U.K.), an Ineos subsidiary, says it has acquired Glebe Mines (Stoney Middleton, U.K.), a miner of fluorspar. Ineos Fluor was one of Glebe Mines’ fluorspar customers prior to the deal, and uses the product as a key raw material to produce fluorochemicals, Ineos Fluor says. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ineos Fluor says that Glebe Mines is the only U.K.-based company that mines fluorspar in the U.K. Fluorspar is used in the production of asthma inhalers, unleaded gasoline, computers, refrigeration and air-conditioning...
