Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Ineos Closes PP Capacity3:14 PM MDT | August 7, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Ineos plans to close two of its three polypropylene (PP) production lines at Sarralbe, France. It will close a 165,000-m.t./year line by the end of 2008 and a 50,000-m.t./year line by the end of 2009. “The two slurry lines have become unsustainable due to feedstock issues and their exposure to grades and markets unable to provide sufficient returns through the cycle,” Ineos says. The remaining PP line at Sarralbe has a capacity of 65,000 m.t./year. Ineos also operates a 200,000-m.t./year, high-density polyethylene plant at Sarralbe. Ineos is expanding...
