Ineos Closes PP Capacity

Ineos plans to close two of its three polypropylene (PP) production lines at Sarralbe, France. It will close a 165,000-m.t./year line by the end of 2008 and a 50,000-m.t./year line by the end of 2009. “The two slurry lines have become unsustainable due to feedstock issues and their exposure to grades and markets unable to provide sufficient returns through the cycle,” Ineos says.
