Higher Sales and Prices Lift Evonik’s Earnings

Evonik Industries’ chemical operations reported an increase in profits for the first nine months, helped by higher volumes and selling prices. Evonik’s technology specialties business reported Ebit up 23%, to €365 million ($538 million), on sales of €3.6 billion, the same as the year-ago period. Operating income from the consumer solutions business rose 24%, to €178 million, on sales up 3%, to €2.3 billion.
