Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs HDPE start-up in Serbia7:14 AM MST | January 18, 2013 HIP Petrohemija (Pancevo, Serbia) says it has started operations at an expanded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant at the company’s Pancevo refinery and petrochemicals complex. HDPE capacity increased from 76,000 m.t./year to 90,000 m.t./year. The plant was also modernized during the expansion, and the overall cost of the project was more than €2 million ($2.7 million), HIP Petrohemija says. The plant uses HDPE technology supplied by Chevron Phillips Chemical. HIP Petrohemija says it plans by 2014 to increase the unit’s capacity to 110,000...
