Evonik invests in biobased lubricants start-up

Evonik Industries says that it has closed on an equity investment in Biosynthetic Technologies (BT; Irvine, CA), a specialist in biobased lubricants. BT has developed and manufactures estolides, a new class of biobased synthetic oils that are used primarily in the passenger-car motor oil and industrial lubricant sectors.
