Evogene raises $74 million in NYSE debut

Shares of Evogene (Rehovot, Israel), a plant genomics firm in which both Monsanto and Bayer hold significant stakes, debuted 21 November on the New York Stock Exchange at $14.75/share. The initial public offering raised approximately $74 million. Monsanto, which already held a 8.7% stake in Evogene, paid about $12 million to acquire 813,560 of the 5 million offered shares. Evogene says it has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 750,000 additional ordinary shares at the same price per share. Evogene posted 2012 revenue of $17.1...
