European Commission welcomes EU Parliament approval of F-gas emission cuts

The European Commission says it welcomes the European Parliamentâ€™s recent approval of the commissionâ€™s proposal to reduce significantly emissions of fluorinated gases (F-gases), a family of powerful greenhouse gases (GHGs), in the European Union. F-gases have a global warming effect up to 23,000 times greater than that of carbon dioxide, the commission says.
