European Commission refers GMO cultivation request to Council of Ministers

The European Commission has referred a request related to cultivation of a genetically-modified organism (GMO), originally submitted 12 years ago, to the council of ministers. The ministers will now take a position by qualified majority on the request. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Parma, Italy) has already submitted several positive opinions on this case.
