Eastman plans Tritan expansion at Kingsport

Eastman Chemical says it will increase capacity for Tritan copolyester at Kingsport, TN, to support growing applications for bisphenol Aâ€“free polymers in medical, durable goods, and infant-care markets. The company says it will increase capacity from 60,000 m.t./year to 76,000 m.t./year through a series of capital projects. The additional capacity is expected to be completed by mid-2014. Eastman has already doubled its Tritan capacity, having sold out of its original 30,000-m.t./year Kingsport production line within a year of Tritanâ€™s introduction in May...
