Eastman Chemical Forms Resin JV in China

Eastman and Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical (Nanjing, China) have formed a joint venture to build a hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin plant at Nanjing. The facility will produce 50,000 m.t./year of Eastman’s Regalite hydrocarbon resin. The jv will be equally owned by each company and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2014. Eastman says the plant will increase its hydrogenated resin capacity by 50% and make it the largest global producer.
