Akzo Nobel reported third-quarter net income down 10%, to €281 million ($399.6 million), including impairment and restructuring charges. Akzo reported combined net income from its coatings and chemicals businesses up 16%, to €156 million before incidentals, on sales up 2%, to €2.6 billion (table). Net income from those businesses, including special items, fell 30%, to €136 million.
