EFSA opens public consultation on bisphenol A

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Parma, Italy) has opened a public consultation on its draft assessment of the risks to human health posed by exposure to bisphenol A (BPA). The public consultation will run until 13 March. BPA is used to make polycarbonates, used in the manufacture of compact discs, and epoxy resins, which are used as coatings in food and beverage cans.
