Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs ECHA adds substances8:43 AM MST | February 8, 2013 The European Chemicals Agency (Helsinki) has recommended a further 10 substances of very high concern (SVHC) for authorization under the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) legislation. The SVHCs were already included on ECHA’s candidate list for authorization under Reach. They are classified as SVHCs because they are carcinogenic or toxic to reproduction and are used in applications where there is potential for worker exposure, ECHA adds.
