DuPont fined for violations at West Virginia plant

EPA and the Department of Justice (Justice Department) say that DuPont has been fined $1.28 million for allegedly failing to prevent the release of harmful levels of hazardous materials from its Belle, WV, site on eight occasions during May 2006â€“January 2010, including a 23 January 2010 incident in which a DuPont employee died after exposure to phosgene gas.
