DuPont Targets Foreign Firms for Refrigerants Patent Infringement

DuPont says it has taken legal action against local companies in four countries that it alleges have infringed on its patents for non-ozone-depleting, hydrofluorocarbon-based refrigerants. DuPont says the move is part of ongoing attempts to “gather evidence” on Chinese equipment manufacturers suspected of exporting air conditioners containing DuPont’s patented HFC-410A refrigerant to the European Union without proper licenses.
