Dow Joint Venture Plans Elastomer Plant in Thailand

SCG-Dow Group, a joint venture between Dow Chemical and Siam Cement (Bangkok), says it will build a specialty elastomer plant at Map Ta Phut, Thailand to supply customers in the “fast-growing” Asia/Pacific region. “This investment is consistent with Dow’s strategy to invest in our downstream performance businesses and drive growth in Asia/Pacific,” says George Biltz, group v.p./specialty plastics and elastomers at Dow.
