Dow JV Breaks Ground on Olefins Unit

SCG Chemicals (Bangkok) and Dow Chemical have broken ground on a previously announced joint venture to build an olefins plant and expand polyolefin units at Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The olefins plant will have combined capacity for 1.7 million m.t./year and the polyolefin expansions will add 400,000 m.t./year of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and 400,000 m.t./year of polypropylene (PP).
