Consultantâ€™s report threatens UK potash project

Sirius Mineralsâ€™ (London) potash project in the United Kingdom suffered a major setback earlier this month, just as the company had been expecting the project to receive the official go-ahead from the regional planning authority, the North York Moors National Park Authority (NYMNPA). A report prepared for the authority by consulting firm Amec (London) concludes, instead, that the need for the project has not been proved in terms of its benefits to the UK economy and questions the viability of the project, which is based on polyhalite, a potassium calcium...
