Cargill’s Fourth-Quarter Earnings Climb

Cargill reported net income for the fourth quarter, ended May 31, up 75%, to $628 million, over the year-ago period. Results reflect increased earnings from operations and a decrease in income tax-related expenses, Cargill says. Earnings from each of Cargill’s five business units exceeded the prior year’s performance, with the largest contribution coming from risk management and financial, industrial, and food ingredients and applications segments.
