Cabot to close carbon black facility in Malaysia

Cabot says that the board of its Cabot Malaysia (Port Dickson) carbon black joint venture has decided to cease production at its Port Dickson facility by the end of July. The decision, which will affect about 90 employees, reflects the facility’s “manufacturing inefficiencies and raw materials costs,” Cabot says. Cabot holds a 51% stake in Cabot Malaysia.
