Bayer’s Fourth-Quarter Net Income Falls

Wenning: Full-year results beat targets. Bayer reported fourth-quarter 2007 net income down 79%, to €67 million ($101 million), on sales up 1%, to €8 billion. Operating income before special items rose 24%, to €774 million. Net income fell mainly because of one-time effects, both in the non-operating result and in income taxes, Bayer says.
