BASF to sell PVC modifier business to Kaneka Belgium

BASF says it has signed a contract with Kaneka Belgium (Westerlo-Oevel), a subsidiary of Kaneka Corp. (Osaka), to sell BASF’s Vinuran polyvinyl chloride (PVC) modifier business. BASF is selling its inventory and customer list to Kaneka. BASF’s plant at Ludwigshafen, which produces the modifiers, as well as the business’s employees, are not part of the transaction. BASF says it is evaluating all possible alternatives for the PVC modifier plant at Ludwigshafen. Closing of the deal, subject to approvals by antitrust authorities, is planned in the first quarter...
