Ashland to Buy Air Products’ Adhesives and Polymer Assets

O’Brien: Highly desirable deal. Ashland says it has signed a definitive agreement to buy the assets of Air Products’ pressure sensitive adhesives business and its atmospheric emulsion business for $92 million. The deal includes Air Products’ plants at Elkton, MD, and Piedmont, SC, as well as acrylic and polyvinyl acetate technologies, Ashland says. The acquired units reported 2007 sales of $126 million, and will be merged into Ashland’s Specialty Polymers & Adhesives business. About 80 Air Products employees will transfer to Ashland...
