Appalachian Resins leases land for $1-billion project

Start-up company Appalachian Resins (Houston) is leasing land in Salem Township, OH, for a proposed $1-billion ethylene and polyethylene (PE) production facility. The company has signed a land lease letter of intent with the port authority of Monroe County, OH, for 50 acres of land for the 600-million lb/year project. The Ohio facility will be able to process about 18,000 bbl/day of ethane into ethylene and PE and will tie into the region’s pipeline and storage network, the company says.
