Airgas to Build Liquid CO2 Facility Near Houston

Airgas says it will build a 450-m.t./day liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) plant at the Shell Deer Park refinery located near Houston. Airgas expects construction of the plant to be completed by late 2008. Financial details were not disclosed. Airgas says it has entered into a 15-year agreement with Shell Oil, under which Shell will build a pipeline to supply raw CO2 to be used as feedstock for the new plant.
