Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Air Products to Supply Gases for Chinese Coal-to-Liquids Plant12:36 PM MDT | August 4, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Air Products says it has signed a long-term agreement to supply onsite oxygen and nitrogen to Weihe Clean Energy’s (Weinan) coal-to-chemicals plant located at Weinan, China. Air Products will build an air separation unit (ASU) with capacity to produce 2,000 m.t./day of oxygen. The high-pressure oxygen will be used to produce synthesis gas, a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, which are precursors to produce basic chemicals such as acetic acid and methanol.
