Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Abiquim: Brazil’s chemical production up by 2.89%8:43 AM MST | February 8, 2013 <p>Brazilian production of industrial chemicals was up by 2.89% in 2012 compared with 2011, according to preliminary figures released by Abiquim (São Paulo), the country’s chemical industry association. Domestic sales of industrial chemicals increased by 7.43% over the same period. Chemical imports fell during 2012, but still represented one-third of the domestic market Abiquim says. Overall chemical production in the fourth quarter 2012 was 2.01% lower than in the year-ago period. Capacity utilization averaged 81% during 2012, slightly higher...
