Floods force plants to shut down in Czech Republic

Spolana (Neratovice, Czech Republic) has suspended production at almost all of its plants at Neratovice because of flooding, sources tell IHS Chemical. The measures are necessary because the site’s sewage-treatment plants are not working. Spolana moved all hazardous chemical products, including chlorine, from the site to a safe location on 2 June to avoid the products coming into contact with floodwater. Spolana has issued a force majeure declaration on deliveries of its products, which will be in force until at least 20 June, sources tell IHS Chemical...
