Solvayâ€™s fourth-quarter net income soars 79%

Solvay achieved a 79% increase in its net income for the fourth quarter of 2012, to â‚¬203 million ($272 million), from â‚¬184 million in the fourth quarter a year before. Ebit also soared, by 78%, to â‚¬349 million from â‚¬196 million over the same period. Net sales increased to â‚¬2.99 billion, up 4% from the â‚¬2.87 billion reported in the fourth quarter of 2011.
