Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Sibur MTBE hike9:28 AM MST | January 11, 2013 Sibur (Moscow) says it has completed an expansion of methyl tert -butyl ether (MTBE) capacity at Tchaikovsky, Russia, to 220,000 m.t./year, from 200,000 m.t./year. Sibur’s other major MTBE plant is at Tobolsk, Russia, with a capacity of 150,000 m.t./year. The company says it produced more than 400,000 m.t. of MTBE during 2011.
