Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Yara to Build Urea Unit at Dutch Complex11:12 AM MDT | October 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Yara International says it plans to build an additional urea plant at the company’s Sluiskil, the Netherlands site. The €300-million ($424 million) investment will expand urea capacity at Sluiskil by 45%, to 3,500 m.t./day, Yara says. Construction is due to start in 2008 and completion is slated for 2011. The planned urea unit will consume ammonia produced by Yara at Sluiskil. About 70% of Yara’s Sluiskil ammonia production is currently consumed onsite to make fertilizers, and the rest is shipped for consumption at other Yara sites or...
